Northern Colorado is a vibrant region of colorful, unique communities that function together to create a one-of-a-kind Colorado lifestyle. Nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, this area offers something for everyone from the theatre enthusiast to the outdoor adventurer. The cities and towns that make up Northern Colorado include Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, Wellington and Greeley. Each offers its own environment and culture while contributing to the regional feel of the area. Residents are a short drive to all the many recreational, dining and cultural opportunities this "regional community" has to offer. There are public boating opportunities in both Fort Collins and Loveland, fine dining in Old Town Fort Collins and Windsor, fantastic shopping at the new Promenade Shops at Centerra at the corner of Interstate 25 and Highway 34 and multiple symphonies, theatres, orchestra, art galleries and more spread out through all of the Northern Colorado communities. There are also multiple trail systems that meander throughout the area and offer beautiful scenic routes for biking and running. And just a short drive away is all the fishing, skiing, hiking mountain fun you could dream of!
Fort Collins
Fort Collins is a city of 125,740 situated 65 miles north of Denver. As a regional center for employment, shopping, and healthcare, Fort Collins offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a larger city. With an average of 300 days of sunshine per year and low humidity, Fort Collins experiences pleasant weather year-round. There is always something happening in this community. From musical concerts and powerful plays, to food and beer tasting extravaganzas this place has it all. Indoor and outdoor activities are enjoyable in every season. This is also the home of Colorado State University.
Greeley
Greeley is rooted in the strong agricultural values of community and hard work that built the city and surrounding towns, and the residents have maintained that sense of community as the area has grown. That small-town feel, with the amenities you'd expect in a larger community, are part of what makes this city unique. There is also a diverse variety of recreational and cultural opportunities for everyone to enjoy - events such as the Greeley Independence Stampede, the largest 4th of July rodeo/festival in the nation; the Greeley Fiesta, celebrating the diversity of its people; and the Greeley Philharmonic, the oldest orchestra west of the Mississippi. There is no shortage of things to do here.
Loveland
Loveland is a little city of just over 50,000 residents but has lots to offer. There is a thriving arts and sculpture community. This includes the Loveland Academy of Fine Arts, Benson Park Sculpture Garden, and beautiful and interesting sculptures throughout Loveland. There is also a world renowned outdoor sculpture and art show each August, attended by 150,000 art lovers. With 25 city parks, including North Lake Park on the lovely and centrally located Lake Loveland, and Boyd Lake State Park, a boater/angler/water skiers paradise, Loveland offers plenty of recreation choices.
Timnath
Located just east of I-25 on the Harmony corridor, the charming town of Timnath offers a quaint small town atmosphere with all of the convienences of Fort Collins just minutes away. Timnath's future is poised for well managed growth and development in both residential and commercial areas. With the charm and feel of small town living and the location and conveniences of major cities along the northern front range, there is no doubt that it will continue to be a highly desired community.
Windsor
Windsor is a unique and special community. It is situated between three major Northern Colorado communities in Greeley, Fort Collins, and Loveland and just off Interstate 25, which puts it in easy reach of much of the Front Range. And along with the rest of the region, despite phenomenal growth and proximity to larger communities and all of their conveniences, Windsor has maintained its small-town charm and friendliness.
Wellington
Wellington has its roots in agriculture and the railroad and has retained its delightful, historic, small-town atmosphere. Community events bring residents together to enjoy school programs, parades, good food, classic cars and fireworks. Wellington is within easy access to the heart of the Rocky Mountains with excellent opportunities for skiing, hiking, bicycling, fishing, hunting, bird watching, and other family outings. Wellington is adjacent to a major interstate highway (I-25) that provides convenient north access to Cheyenne, Wyoming and south access to Fort Collins, Loveland and Denver. Excellent quality and economically priced homes are available in Wellington along with a top rated school system.
